Ijaw Youths Threaten Benin Govt Over Asari-Dokubo! The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) has demanded an unreserved apology from the government of Benin Republic over the arrest of the leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force ( NDPLF), Alhaji Mujahid Asari-Dokubo. The council has also warned that it would no longer condone the arrest and harassment of Ijaw leaders.
The  Ijaw nation was jolted when the news of the arrest of Asari-Dokubo filtered into Nigeria with the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta( MEND) threatening to attack Beninose interests if he was not released.
The IYC noted that though Asari-Dokubo has been released, his arrest and detention was politically motivated by enemies of the Ijaw nation who are uncomfortable with his position as it relates to President Goodluck Jonathan running for the presidency in 2015.

Hide arranged to supply the class A drug to Mazher Mahmood after a series of meetings at a hotel near Norwich in January and February. During a sentencing hearing at Cambridge Crown Court, defence lawyers questioned the use of "entrapment" tactics to target the 42-year-old. Hide, of Bawburgh, near Norwich, admitted conspiracy to supply class A drugs. He has previous convictions including criminal damage, battery, threatening behaviour and carrying a knife. FG Orders ASUU To Reopen Varsities Dec 4 Strike an act of sabotage – Minister The Federal Government on Thursday ordered the Academic Staff Union of Universities to reopen the institutions within one week. There was a surge of excitement yesterday across the states whose governors defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Supporters of the governors in Rivers, Kwara and Adamawa hailed the decision. Governors Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers) and his Adamawa State counterpart Murtala Nyako also spoke on why they took the decision. Amaechi said his state had suffered neglect under the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan. He said he decided to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) to protect Rivers’ interests. Nyako hinged his decision on the “injustice” suffered by the PDP in the state under the party’s National Chairman, Bamanga Tukur. He said all efforts to reverse the injustice failed.
