Nkanga pointed to a number of episodes in recent months as instances where Nigerian security forces went after people simply because of something they said or wrote. This month, the army said it wanted to question a journalist who had posted a link to a video released by the Boko Haram extremist group.

Niger Delta Avengers in an open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari accused him of using the new military formation {OPERATION CROCODILE SMILES} as part of a pre-determined genocide mission in the Niger Delta region.
We call on President Muhammadu Buhari to put away the garb of a stooge to the imperialists, whenever he speaks outside Nigeria. We have listened carefully and halted hostilities in the Niger Delta; we expect a genuine and positive attitude to restructuring and self-determination for every component unit of Nigeria. Dear president, what makes those countries (Japan, Germany, France, USA, Britain etc.) great is the ability of their governments to accommodate internal protestations and conflicts for the greater good of their nations over the years. Please stop presenting your government as pawn to the web of military industrialists complex, whenever you leave the shores of Nigeria.

Nigeria Will Overcome Present Challenges — Jonathan

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has said that Nigerians must be prepared to protect and develop the country at all times.

He said that the current challenges Nigerians were facing were transient as the country would definitely overcome them and urged Christians to continue to pray for the country.

Jonathan stated this at the public presentation of a book entitled The History of St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Otuoke, his home town, in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

According to him, the essence of history was to know how societies or clans evolved and emerged, adding that there was need to capture the spread of Christianity in communities in the Niger Delta.

He appealed to indigenes of Otuoke to read the book and volunteer additional information for the next edition.

The former President also eulogised the book reviewer, Professor Emeritus, Ebiegberi Alagoa, for his contributions to the documentation of the history of the Niger Delta.

Unveiling the book, Rear Admiral Gbori…

The Dog Named Buhari And The Baboon Christened Patience By Dr. Peregrino Brimah

Please read for yourselves! Nigeria's president Muhammadu Buhari said after the 2011 elections that “if what happened then (alleged rigging) should again happen in 2015, by the grace of God, the dog and the baboon would all be soaked in blood.” He did not specify who would be the baboon and who will be the dog. Curiously the dog and baboon theme has persisted though not quite in the fair battle as the metaphor has it, but for whatever a proverb is worth, the identities appear to have been assigned.

In Ogun state, in May this year a former president and close friend of Nigeria's ruling government, Olusegun Obasanjo named a 3-year old chimpanzee "Patience," the name of the Nigeria's former first lady. Nigerians laughed it off. There was no arrest made and no warning. While the christening of the chimp "Patience" could be argued to have the potential to trigger bloody riots by hundreds of ex-militants with many betrothed to former president Goodluck Jonath…

The Butchers From The North By Femi Fani-Kayode

The Former Aviation Minister posted this article on his Facebook page today;

The butchers from the north are better known as the Fulani militants and herdsmen. They have unleashed horror and levied war against the people of Nigeria over the last one year. The saints are the Christians that they have slaughtered all over the country in that same period of time.I consider every single saint that they have killed as a martyr because they died for their faith. I honor them with this essay and I dedicate it to their memory.

On 24th August 2016 Mr. Phil Smart wrote the following on Facebook:"Catholic seminarian butchered, pregnant woman's stomach cut Fulani herdsmen continue killing in Enugu". The words were accompanied by a picture of a Catholic priest whose body had been shredded into pieces like fresh mincemeat or a Japanese sirloin steak.
There was another of a pregnant woman whose stomach had been slit open right down the middle and whose unborn foetus and gut…

Nigerian Inspector General Of Police, Ibrahim Idris Accused Of Looting And Sexual Relationship With Subordinates - Sahara Reporters

One of the most alarming allegations against Mr. Idris relate to the unlawful sale of thirty vehicles. “Idris should be investigated on the circumstances leading to the disappearance of about 30 vehicles which are known to have been released to fictitious claimants,” one serving police officer said.
Several senior and mid-level police officers have provided SaharaReporters with a list of grave acts of corruption allegedly committed by Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris. The officers, some of them retired but most still in active service, stated that the IGP’s notoriety for embezzlement of funds, frequent abandonment of his post, and sexual liaisons with subordinates preceded his time as the Commissioner of Police for Kano State. The allegationsraise serious questions about Mr. Idris’s fitness to lead the police force in the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari with its vow to build public trust in institutions.
One of the most alarming allegations against Mr. Idris …

Let me begin by paying tribute to my predecessors in office who piloted the affairs of the state before the Peoples Democracy Party (PDP)administration was inaugurated on May 29, 1999.  From Air Commodore Luke Chijiuba Ochulor  (rtd) who was the pioneer Administrator on creation in 1991 to the first elected Governor, Olorogun Felix Ibru,  after the demise of the civilian administration, Abdulkadir Shehu, Bassey Asuquo, Ibrahim Kefas, John Dungs and  to Walter Feghabo who supervised the conduct of the election in 1999, and eventually handed over to me as Governor.
