Man Charged With Stabbing Partner To Death

A man has been remanded in custody after being charged with the murder of his partner who was stabbed to death.

Paul Czapla will appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on Tuesday

Kirsty Humphrey, 23, was found dead by her five-year-old daughter at their flat in Queen Elizabeth Way, Colchester, Essex, on Wednesday morning.

A post-mortem found Miss Humphrey died from stab wounds to her neck and chest. Neighbours reported hearing a commotion at the property earlier that day.

Paul Czapla, 24, of Queen Elizabeth Way, was ­remanded at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court. He will appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on Tuesday.
