KATY PERRY has revealed that her split from Russell Brand left her sinking into the depths of depression.

Katy said: "It was sad and there were thoughts…" Adding: "But there were never actions, thankfully.

"Sometimes you can be blinded by your own extreme emotion. I asked myself, 'Do I want to endure? Should I continue living?'"

Katy and Russell were married on October 23 in 2010, they split after just 14 months – with rumours he asked for a divorce via text message.
