Finally, Someone Has Come Up With A Word For Female Masturbation

From ‘burping the worm’ to ‘cranking the love pump’, there’s plenty of synonyms for male masturbation – but now there’s a specific word for the female version Swedish. That word is ‘klittra’ – a combination of clitoris and glitter, reportedly, which makes us wonder what they actually get up to in Sweden. The English version would probably be ‘clittering’.

The word was the winner in a competition launched by the Swedish Association for Sexual Education launched a competition to find a new word with an ‘open, positive view of sex and relationship issues’. The Association is ‘Historically, women’s sexuality and not least female masturbation has been taboo. ‘Women are not expected to have desires and be turned on in the same way as men, which is reflected in the lack of words.’ Source; Metro UK.
