Cecil The Lion Immortalised On Gold Smartphone HTC That Costs £1,580

Cecil the Zimbabwean revered lion killed by an American trophy hunter has continued to make a mark in the global scene, even after death.  In the latest of his honours, Asian mobile phone giant HTC has produced a high net worth smartphone to mark the lives and times of Cecil on earth. 'Inu kwa'!  Bekee!

We may have reached peak Cecil the lion. A company has released a £1,580 smartphone in his honour. But would the lion really agree with a gold HTC One M9 with his face on the back? Metro Uk asked.

But at least gold plating manufacturer Goldgenie is donating £159 from every phone sold to conservation charity Friends of Hwange.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwean wildlife authorities have suspended the hunting of lions, leopards and elephants in an area favoured by hunters following the killing. The African nation also said the hunt for Cecil was illegal and was seeking the extradition of Minnesota dentist Walter James Palmer, who is accused of killing him. Metro Uk.
