GOVERNOR AMAECHI: ABACHA DARK DAYS ARE HERE WITH US –BARAJE

Factional chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Kawu Baraje has expressed concern over the police siege to the Rivers State Government House. According to media reports, Governor Rotimi Amaechi was barred from entering the Government House on Thursday along with his guests. But reacting to the development, the factional national leadership in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday raised alarm that the country democracy was under threat, as it claimed that the very repressive conditions Nigerians were subjected to under the military regime were being reenacted.

National publicity secretary of the factional national working committee, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze detailed what he claimed to be repressive measures of the President Goodluck Jonathan administration.

In his reaction, the Alhaji Bamanga Tukur dismissed media reports that governor Amaechi was prevented from entering Government House as unfounded. National publicity secretary of the party, Olisa Metuh claimed that Governor Amaechi was manipulating the Nigerian press.
“The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) condemns in its entirety, the manipulation of the Nigerian press by certain individuals who consider themselves above the law.

Of particular concern is the manipulation of the media by the Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Governor Chibuike Amaechi to mislead Nigerians and create an impression that the police and the Federal Government barred him from entering the Rivers State Government House, Port Harcourt.
