Nigeria Will Be Out Of Recession In 3rd Quarter – CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele

Nigerian central bank governor, Godwin Emefiele, has clarified that the country should be out of recession by the third quarter of 2017. Mr Emefiele said this while speaking after a meeting with the Nigerian senate leadership in Abuja. He said the federal government had done a lot to revive the economy,
He promised that the apex bank would continue with its intervention in the foreign exchange market. “We are very much optimistic that by the end of the second quarter, or latest the third quarter, we should be out of recession that we are in right now,” he said.
Addressing reporters at the end of the meeting, Emefiele said it was Senate President Bukola Saraki who asked CBN to update the upper legislative chamber on developments in the foreign exchange market.
“Actually, the senate president invited us to come and brief the senate leadership in a closed session and to provide some updates on the foreign exchange markets,” he said.

Ghanian police on Tuesday, April 25, arrested a 31-year-old farmer identified as Abdul Salam for killing his 6-year- old son and cutting off his head and legs at Adidaase near Amanso Amenfi in Wassa Amenfi of western region, Ghana.
Speaking to Energy FM of Prestea, an eyewitness explained that the boy got missing since yesterday which made the unity committee of the area to conduct a search.

Nigerians Protest In Abuja In Demand For The Release Of Shiite Leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky

Concerned Nigerians trooped out to the streets of Abuja the federal capital in protest demanding for the immediate release of the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria aka Shiites, who has been in military detention since December 2015 following a clash between members of the Islamic group and the Nigerian Army.
The protesting members are demanding that the Federal government obey a Federal High Court ruling on December 2nd 2016 that ordered the immediate release of El-Zakzaky and his wife Malamatu Zeatudden. The court had ordered that El-Zakzaky and his wife be releasedwithin 45 daysof the ruling. Five months down the line, they are still in custody.

He said this in a post he made on social media, in which he insinuated that Buhari was poisoned but he survived it and now they're trying to force him to resign so that corruption will continue in the govt.

Operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, and men of the Nigerian Prisons Service, DSS, returned the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, back to Kuje Prison after he was granted bail by an Abuja Federal High Court. A man in Ogoni, Rivers state was publicly humiliated for attacking a woman because she was wearing a Biafran branded cap. 
According to the report, a lady who wore a cap that barred“The Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB” symbol on it, was made to brutally beat the man in retaliation for slapped her. 
The lady who explained what happened after she was questioned, she revealed that the unknown man just walked up to her asking her to remove her “IPOB Cap” because it isn’t registered with the Nigerian government. She refused, and then he slapped her and stabbed her with a screwdriver, before destroying her iPad.
When the man was asked what transpired, he admitted he owns the screwdriver but denied that he was the one responsible for the woman's injuries. He claimed he only approached her "like a man". His story did not seem convincing and he was manhandled by the crowd. See the video below.
