OKOROCHA REITERATES COMMITMENT TO ERADICATE CORRUPTION.

Imo State government says it will henceforth direct its searchlight on officers of the local government system with the view to fish out the corrupt ones amongst them.
Gov. Rochas Okorocha who announced this while addressing newsmen at the Sam Mbakwe Exco Chambers, Government House, Owerri, said that his administration has zero tolerance to corruption and will not hesitate to show any corrupt officer the way out of service.
According to Pointblanknews.com, Okorocha stated that his government will remain committed to the eradication of corruption in the civil service by monitoring closely the activities of every staff to ensure protection of public interest.
He described corruption as a more serious crime than kidnapping, explaining that the former, increases unemployment rate and hampers economic growth.
He attributed the hardship currently experienced in the country to corruption.
The governor added that the ability of the state to execute its policies and programmes successfully depended on the availability of fund and called on the civil servants in the state to ensure that funds meant for any project was not misappropriated.
Okorocha further announced that he was committed to an open door policy that was responsive to the needs of the people for good governance, probity and accountability.
He then called for the cooperation of the people to enable his administration take the state to the peak of infrastructural development.
