 The FBI has released harrowing footage of the shooter driving into the compound before killing 12 people and injuring 14 others

Harrowing footage of Washington Navy Yard gunman Aaron Alexis hunting his victims has been released by the FBI.
On the 31-second footage, the shooter can be seen driving into the compound before stalking his victims with a loaded shotgun inside an office block.
Investigators have said there is no indication the 34-year-old targeted any specific individuals when he opened fire, killing 12 people and injuring 14 others.
Valerie Parlave, head of the FBI’s field office in Washington, said they are continuing to determine why he carried out the massacre.
Following last week’s shootings, it emerged Alexis had a well-documented history of mental health issues.
Ms Parlave said the former Navy reservist held a delusional belief that he was being controlled by extremely low frequency waves, or ELF waves.
He had written “my ELF weapon” on his shotgun.
