KENYA MALL MASSACRE: TROOPS 'LOOTED SHOPS' AFTER SIEGE ENDED!
KENYAN troops who took part in clearing the Westgate shopping mall of terrorists have been accused of LOOTING shops after the siege ended.
But shopkeepers returning to their stores claim that soldiers have been looting, allegedly taking money from tills and expensive jewellery and electronic equipment.
Optician Tariq Harunai was among the store owners who made the claims.
He told the Washington Post: "The whole place has been done over.
"The watch counters have been cleared, the jewellery shop is empty, there’s no jewellery on the necklace stands."“The whole place has been done over”Optician Tariq Harunai
He added that frames and sunglasses had been taken from his store.
His brother Yasser added: "We know who’s done it but what can we do?
"They ransacked it. The military secured the place, and in that time the place is emptied."
Kenya's interior minister Joseph Ole Lenku said that looters would be prosecuted, but only three shops had reported missing stock.
