WINE-LOVERS have been handed a massive shock, after a new report revealed the world is RUNNING OUT of their favourite tipple.

Experts predict a global wine shortage could soon hit, leaving millions unable to quench their thirst.

Last year, suppliers were unable to meet demand by a staggering 300 million cases of wine.

It was the largest wine shortfall in almost 50 years.

And the situation is likely to get worse, according to researchers from Morgan Stanley.

“Data suggests there may be insufficient supply to meet demand in coming years, as current vintages are released,” says the report.

The shortage has been blamed on a growing number of wine-guzzlers from America and China.

Wine consumption has doubled in China TWICE in the past five years.

During the same period, European wine producers have suffered from a series of disappointing harvests, including last year's weather-ruined crop.

And, if wine-makers are unable to reverse their fall in production, experts predict bars could be running dry for some time
