AXED! Andre Villas-Boas Sacked By Spurs - Fabio Capello Favourite To Replace Him

ANDRE VILLAS-BOAS has been sacked as manager of Tottenham.

Spurs announced the news on their official website, a day after their 5-0 home defeat to Liverpool.

A statement read: "The club can announce that agreement has been reached with Head Coach, Andre Villas-Boas, for the termination of his services.

"The decision was by mutual consent and in the interests of all parties."

Sources in Italy claim Spurs have made Fabio Capello their first choice to replace him while Guus Hiddink is also allegedly in line for the post.

Ex-England boss Capello, now in charge of Russia, was at White Hart Lane yesterday commentating for Sky Italia.

Bookies Paddy Power make him the 6/4 favourite to take the job.

Swansea's Michael Laudrup is second favourite at 9/2 while Guus Hiddink and Tim Sherwood are both at 15/2.

Frank De Boer, Glenn Hoddle, Luis Enrique and Rudi Garcia are all priced up at 10/1.
