Chelsea Football Club: Abramovich Ready To Bench Courtois If He Rejects New Contract!

Roman Abramovich will make sure Thibaut Courtois remains on the Chelsea bench if he fails to put pen to paper on a new contract extension.
On-loan, Courtois
According to Spanish newspaper AS, Courtois wants to spend another season on loan at Atletico Madrid if Chelsea plan to keep Petr Cech as number one.
There has been no indication that Jose Mourinho is willing to replace the Czech Republic international, but he’s desperate to avoid losing Courtois - one of the world’s best young goalkeepers.
Chelsea want him to sign a new deal, but the Belgian international has decided to put everything off until the summer before making a decision.
The report claims Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich wants his future sorted quickly though, and is becoming frustrated by the delaying tactic.
And he’s even threatening to keep Courtois on the bench for the next two years - his contract expires in 2016 - rather than send him back to Atletico if he rejects the Chelsea deal on the table.
Chelsea put the offer to Courtois several months ago, but the former-Genk stopper wants to assess his options at the end of the season.
He has enjoyed three hugely successfully years on loan at the Vicente Calderon, and does not want to return to Stamford Bridge if it means sitting on the bench behind Cech.
Atletico chief Miguel Angel Gil Martin has reportedly been in London several times since the turn of the year in an attempt to get Courtois for another season.
Cech was been Chelsea number one since 2004, and remains one of the most consistent keepers in the Premier League. www.givemesport.com
