Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has warned fans that it's time to be realistic about their Premier League prospects at the business end of the campaign, following last night's dramatic 2-2 draw with Swansea City.
The Gunners recovered from a dreadful start to lead 2-1 heading into stoppage time thanks to strikes from Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud, but were dealt a cruel late blow as Mathieu Flamini put into his own net in the first minute of added time.
Wenger's men are now six points behind league leaders Chelsea with just seven games left for both sides, although rather more pressingly they only hold a five-point lead over fifth-placed Everton, who have a game in-hand and a home fixture against the Gunners looming large next month.
With no let up in a punishing fixture schedule and injuries across the board Wenger has readily admitted that in terms of league ambitions their primary objective for the duration of the campaign must be to ensure Champions League qualification does not slip through their fingers.
In his post-match press conference following the Swansea disappointment Wenger told GiveMeSport: "I think at the moment the title is not the biggest worry. We have to be realistic a little bit, we have to try and come back into the next game.
