CHILDMINDER SPOTTED ON FACEBOOK WEARING HER EMPLOYER'S STOLEN CLOTHES!

A nanny was caught stealing from a couple after they spotted her wearing missing clothes and jewellery on Facebook, a court heard. Pascale Sherwin was rumbled after Becki and Bradley Cannings, both 40, set up hidden cameras to catch her in the act.
The 29-year-old, who cared for their two-year-old daughter, Olivia, even tagged Becki in online photos showing her wearing some of the items. Sherwin pleaded guilty at Exeter crown court to theft from her employer and was ordered to do 200 hours unpaid community work, metro.co.uk reports
According to metro.co.uk, afterwards, Mrs Cannings said she first noticed designer clothes, earrings and bracelets missing in March 2012, three months after the professionally trained nanny, also known as Sasha, started work. ‘I feel stupid but I never once considered it would be her. She had become part of the family,’ Mrs Cannings added.
‘Mum then looked on Sasha’s Facebook account and I felt physically sick. In her profile picture, she was wearing all of my clothes and was doing so in several others. I was even tagged in them. I don’t know if she was just stupid or rubbing my nose in it. I have never felt so violated and my whole world came tumbling down.
She took the photos to police but was told there was not enough evidence to prosecute.
The Cannings set up five cameras around their house and collected three days of footage that caught Sherwin in the act. ‘Viewing the footage was like sitting down to watch a horror movie,’ she added. ‘We thought we would be fast-forwarding a lot but within five minutes we caught her stealing a cardigan and putting it in her bag.’
Sherwin was found with the clothes and a stash of stolen jewellery when police searched her home in Exeter. She now lives in Honiton, Devon. Mrs Cannings said the family had been badly affected but the sentencing put a ‘full stop’ on the ordeal. ‘I just wish I had not let my guard down – I was just so convinced it was not her,’ she added.
