An explosion is said to have rocked a popular viewing centre in Damaturu, Yobe State, sources claim.

The explosion is believed to have occurred after the World Cup match between Brazil and Mexico.

Scores of people are believed to be dead while many others are injured. Those injured have been taken to the hospital in Damaturu.

Prior the commencement of the World Cup in Brazil some states had banned football viewing centres.

Yobe state Police commissioner said they have deployed police men to the scene.
