Pregnant Woman Tests Positive For Ebola In Lagos As Lagos State Gov. Appealed For Volunteers!

A pregnant woman who went for her usual check up at the First Consultant Hospital Obalande – same hospital that Patrick Sawyer was admitted -  tested positive of the virus on Friday. She got infected after being treated by the same nurse, Obi Justina Ejelonu, who attended to the Liberian carrier, Patrick Sawyer.
You would recall that one of the two nurses who came in direct contact with Mr. Sawyer died last week while the other is still alive.
The pregnant woman has since been quarantined at the mainland hospital where there is an isolation emergency centre for Ebola virus victims.
Meanwhile authorities in Lagos appealed Saturday for volunteers to help fight an outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus in this Nigerian megacity of over 20 million people after admitting they lacked medical personnel.
Some of whom will involve managing their waste, managing their body fluids, giving them antibiotics and fluids to rehydrate their body and to ensure that their immune system is able to find a standing chance to combat and make full recovery as we have seen in some parts of Liberia and Sierra Leone.”
