Why Won't Ebola Roam The Streets Of Nigeria? Look At The Poor State Of A Cattle Slaughter Yard (Abattoir) In Lagos & Ogun!

The poor state of slaughter slabs, meat processing, ineffective meat inspection services and the resultant risk of consuming unwholesome meat have been issues of public health and global environmental concerns.
At most slaughter slabs in Nigeria, slaughtering of cows is generally carried out on the floor and sometimes off the slab by individual butchers, whose knowledge of hygiene is questionable.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO) over 2.5 billion people are at risk of many diseases such as dysentery, cholera, typhoid, schistosomiasis, trachoma and intestinal worms because they don’t have access to safe, better treated meat and meat products.
Pictures below show how cows are being slaughtered at local slaughter slab at the Kara Cow market near Ojodu berger area of Lagos State,  in Isheri Olofin, Ogun State.
