The Abia state governor, Theodore Orji has stated that he will be running for senate as his tenure as governor will be coming to an end in 2015.
He however is not the only member of his family who will be vying for political office next year. His eldest son, Chinedu Orji, has now picked the nomination and expression of interest forms to vie for the Umuahia Central Constituency ticket in the Abia state house of assembly.
For several weeks there have been speculations that the plan of the Orji family is for the younger Orji to join the state assembly and become speaker to protect the family’s interests.
Chinedu Orji however said that the position of speaker was not his ambition. According to him, he is only interested in giving quality representation to the people of his constituency who have been pressurising him to become a lawmaker in order to consolidate on his good programmes for youths.
I dont know where people are getting this stories of Ikuku picking up nomination form and gunning for the speaker seat. People should disregard these rumours
