#Panic Onboard Cruise Ship; Mexico & Brazil Turned Back Cruise Ship Carrying Suspected Ebola Patient!
A cruise ship from Texas bound for Belize and Mexico has been barred from docking because of fears it may be carrying an Ebola victim. The drama started when a woman who had worked in an Ebola laboratory was found to be travelling on a Caribbean cruise ship.
The captain confirmed on the loudspeaker that, among their number, was a woman who worked as a lab supervisor at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas.
The woman in question, who is in voluntary isolation to protect fellow passengers, had handles samples from Thomas Eric Duncan, the Ebola patient who died at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas where she works.
U.S. officials wanted to move the woman from the ship so she could fly back home, but the Belizean and Mexican governments have denied the ship permission to drop anchor in their ports in order to protect their own citizens from exposure.
‘It is the first time that this has happened, and it was decided the ship should not dock as a preventative measure against Ebola,’ Erce Barron, port authority of Quintana Roo, told Reuters.
