#Former British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, PhD To Step Down As Member Of Parliament After 32 Years In The Commons!

Gordon Brown, PhD
From his humble beginning as the son of a preacher, Right Honourable Gordon Brown, PhD worked his way up to the highest echelon of British politics.

Born on the 20th February 1951, A doctoral graduate of the University of Edinburgh, Brown spent his early career working as both a lecturer at a further education college and a television journalist. He entered the British Parliament in 1983 as the MP for Dunfermline East and later for  Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath and served honourably for 32 years and not 32 months!

He was one of the most successful and longest serving Chancellor of the Exchequer (Finance minsters) Britain ever had. He sat and rolled out policies that made Tony Blair win back to back elections for three consecutive terms, before he took charge himself in 2007 and served as Prime Minister for 2years.

He saw the boom and the crunch the world economy ever witnessed. The global economic crisis of 2007 to 2010 took his administration by storm and was the main reason he did not win the 2010 general election. After which he retired to the back-bench and made spiral appearances in the Commons. But when the time came Mr Brown as he is usually called took to the front row and led the campaign that stopped his native Scotland breaking away from the rest of the United Kingdom in the September 18th independence referendum.

Now that time has come, Dr, Gordon Brown is said to be set to announce he will quit as an MP at the next General Election thought to be in May 2015. He is expected to formally reveal his plans to stand down 'within days' after 32 years in the Commons, sources claimed.

One close colleague predicted he may write to Labour Party members in his Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath constituency in the next few days and make a formal announcement before Christmas, according to the dailymail.

Sources claim Mr Brown is eager to bow out 'on a high' after he was widely credited for helping keep Britain together with a passionate 'war cry' in Glasgow the day before votes were cast.

A close ally of the former Labour PM disclosed to the Sunday Mirror that 'Gordon has confirmed to friends that he will stand down at the election in May.

'He wants to go out on a high after effectively salvaging the campaign to keep the UK together in September. He will focus on his charity work, dailymail said.'
