Melua tweeted that she had been hearing a ‘rustling’ noise so went to the doctors to get it checked out.
Using a micro hoover the doctor removed a small spider. A small LIVE spider.
The singer said that the little creature must have been inside a pair of old in-ear monitors she recently used to cancel sound during a flight.
She added that she had had no ‘hassle’ from the spider being in her ear, apart from the ‘shuffling noises’ she heard from time to time.
Katie tweeted: ‘So I had a rustling in my ear for a week and went to the doctor to have it checked out this morning. THIS little fella is what they found!
‘Basically I used these old in-ear monitors to block out sound on a flight, little spider must have been in them and crawled inside my ear and stayed there for the week. It was no hassle at all, apart from the occasional shuffling noises, metro.co.uk reports.
