#Protesters Bury Their Heads In The Sand In Protest Against Global Fracking!

A protest that speaks for it's self. Anti-Fracking activists swamped Snow Kenna Park in Alice Springs in October to take part in an international day of action against hydraulic fracturing.

The Global Frackdown, lead by the Central Australian Frack Free Alliance, was one of four rallies staged across the Northern Territory. It attracted a lot  people who raised concerns about potential impacts on aquifers.

“What we are finding is that there is quite a lot of concern in our local community about the prospect of hydraulic fracturing in Central Australia and the Territory,” CAFFA spokeswoman Tanya Hall said.

“While the industry says it’s safe to drill through our aquifers, all of us know that it only takes one accident to pollute an aquifer — and what happens then? What would we do without our drinking water?  Source; www.couriermail.com.au
