Antonio Martin, whose mother Toni Martin said is 18-year-old, was shot by a police officer outside a petrol station in Berkley, Missouri, at 1am local time today.
Footage has emerged online of a crowd of people scuffling with police at the scene of the shooting.
Several people have been arrested, while police have reportedly been using pepper spray on the crowds, and have even tasered one person.
