Today’s funeral, quite simply, was a beautiful occasion. From the moment Phillip’s coffin was carried into the Macksville Recreational Hall at 12.11pm to the moment he was carried out at 3.16pm, this whole event was a wonderful celebration of a wonderful life, the news reports.

Local priest Father Michael Alcock set the tone by saying, “I do know the world is a better place for having experienced the love, vitality, passion friendship and energy of Phillip Joel Hughes.”
