Now things seem to be taking a turn for the worse, with reports claiming Scary Spice has 'walked out' on Stephen following a series of blazing rows before her worrying hospital dash.
Reports claim friends are 'urging' her to 'formally separate'. Mel, 39, was rushed to hospital by her quick-thicking chaffeur on Thursday, after he noticed her doubled over in agony in the backseat of his car.
Since then, Mel and Stephen have been plagued by rumours that he did NOT visit her during her time in the high dependency unit, as well as the nasty claims that he was behind her bruises and swollen face that viewers spotted on Sunday night.
THEN, rumours reached fever pitch when the most eagled-eyed and savvy X Factor fanatics noticed Mel had rocked up sans her wedding ring, causing a whole load of separation rumours to crawl out of the woodwork.
Now, The Sun has revealed that their marriage is apparently "on life support" after Mel walked out following "a number" of blazing rows, and that the two haven't spoken since her hospital dash.
