Miss BumBum contestant Andressa Urach almost had to have her leg amputated after complications from fillers in her bottom and thighs caused her tissue to rot, according to the metro.co.uk
The Brazilian model and TV presenter came second in Brazil’s 2012 Miss BumBum beauty contest which celebrates shapely rears, but admits she’s now paying the price after reportedly having hydrogel and PMMA fillers injected into her thighs and bum to make them appear fuller.
Urach began to complain of discomfort in July last year and had 400ml of the hydrogel drained from each of her upper thighs. She told Brazilian website W7 at the time: ‘The hydrogel was not absorbed by my body and started to harm me. ‘Now I’ve discovered that the PMMA is sticking to my muscles and causing the tissue to rot,’ she explained.
Despite the operation, she continued to experience pain and was hospitalised at the end of November with an advanced infection in her left leg, metro.co.uk reports.
