A picture of kindergarten pupils holding replica AK-47s as they pose for a school photo has sparked outrage. The children, who are aged about five, posed with the mock guns as well as fake sniper rifles and a grenade launcher for a ‘patriotic class’ photo in the Russian city of St Petersburg.
And the photo has prompted an outcry, with critics calling it ‘horrible’ and ‘outrageous’ – though teacher Yury Dorozhinsky, who gave the lesson, defended the picture.
