Security Officials Today Intercepted A Truck Loaded With Arms In Jos!

Security officials have today intercepted a truck loaded with arms in Jos Plateau state. The Security official, spokesman of the Special Taskforce on Jos crisis, STF, Ikedichi Iweha, a captain in the Nigerian Army confirmed the incident.

He revealed that the they were already informed before the arms were captured of the transit and he said that the arms were also illegaly gotten.

According to Premium Times, the arms were in a private trailer and was intercepted by a traffic police officer on duty. One witness said that the vehicle’s driver had attempted to escape but he had an accident and his car broke down.  The area where the arm-loaded vehicle broke down according to the STF media officer has been cordoned off by armed soldiers.

The road users plying the route are being subjected to intense search of their vehicles. Police spokesman, Abuh Emmanuel however failed to give details of the incident, insisting he was yet to be informed of the arrest
