Former Italian PM Silvio Berlusconi Ends Community Service

The ones untouchable strong man of Italian politics, Silvio Berlusconi has completed his community service sentence for tax fraud. He was reported to have served his term at an Alzheimer's ward in a local hospital.

The three-time former premier made no statements as he left the Sacra Famiglia centre near Milan on Friday, the last of his four-hour weekly stints.

He quickly dived back into politics, meeting with the leader of the anti-immigration Northern League as the splintered centre-right puts out feelers for alliances for regional elections in May.
