Defiant Chinese Homeowner Refuses To Move As Highway Is Built Around His House

A Chinese homeowner has taken stubbornness to a whole new level – by refusing to move despite a motorway being built around his house.  Fai Fu, who won’t allow builders to knock down his three-story property, reckons the Chinese government hasn't OFFERED him enough compensation for being forced out of the neighborhood

So while the motorway gets built around him, the 62-year-old hasn't budged.  The construction started on the multi-million-pound project in central China's Henan Province more than two years ago.  The road was designed to ease congestion in the suburbs and is due to open this summer.  The motorway passes straight through Fai’s four-bedroom building, which is still standing, despite the bulldozers waiting outside.
