Nigerian Registered Nurse Practitioner Charged With Murder In The Scandalous Death Of A 23-month-old Baby In New York

Oluyemisi Adebayo, 54, charged with murder in scalding death of 23-month-old Naomi Mondesire in Queens, New York. The licensed nurse practitioner was arrested at JFK Airport Wednesday trying to flee the country to her native Nigeria. Adebayo claimed she had tested water with her hand before submerging girl, but police say her story was inconsistent with toddler's injuries. Naomi was born 25 weeks premature and required a tracheotomy and feeding tube 

A nurse practitioner from Queens, New York, has been charged in the killing of a developmentally disabled toddler who was submerged in scalding bath water.

Queens District Attorney Richard Brown says 54-year-old Oluyemisi Adebayo was arrested Wednesday just as she was about to board a flight to her native Nigeria. Authorities say Adebayo was taking care of 23-month-old Naomi Mondesire on April 21 when she prepared her for a bath.
