APC House Speaker Contender Dogara And His Camp Walked Out On Party's Internal Democracy - Sources

All seems not well with the APC led incoming National Assembly as report as at end of play today has it that Yakubu Dogara one of the leading contenders for the position of the speaker of the Federal House of Rep and his camp staged a walkout on the internal election that was organized by the party to stem off crisis over the general choice of the leadership of the House. 

All Progressives Congress (APC) chose to conduct an internal election for it's members of the National Assembly-elect to select candidates for the leadership of the 8th national assembly on Saturday haven failed to reach a consensus all along. The party had earlier reached an agreement with the lawmakers-elect to abide by its choice of candidates. Abdulmumuni Jibrin, who led the camp of lawmakers-elect loyal to Dogara described the election as an ambush. 

Despite the walkout, according to the report, the election is said to be going ahead at the International Conference ‎Center, Abuja. The other candidate nominated for the same position as Dogara is Femi Gbajabiamila from Lagos, while Mohammed Monguno from Borno state was nominated unopposed for deputy speaker, after Bukar Lawan Yobe state stood down for him.

You would recall that up still now the APC have not come to a consensus with regards to whom their preferred candidate for the position of the Senate President, where the battle line seems to have been drawn between Senator Bukola Saraki and Senator Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan, both from North central.
