Balarabe, Falae Warn Buhari against Selling out to Foreign Powers

A coalition of 14 political parties and 13 civil society organisations, under the auspices of Credible Alternative Alliance (CAA) headed by former Governor of the old Kaduna State, Balarabe Musa, and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Chief Olu Falae, have warned President Muhammadu Buhari, against surrendering Nigeria to the dictates of foreign governments. The coalition also cast doubt on the ability and readiness of the new All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government and Buhari to meaningfully govern the country.

CAA said in opposition does not mean going into confrontation with the ruling party but an opportunity to be able to put in check those whom the people have entrusted with the future of the country. It said it would only participate in the proposed government of national unity if it is meant for all the parties and for the purpose of helping to produce acceptable constitution for the country. Addressing a press conference in Abuja, the coalition’s National Coordinator, Dr. Damain Ogbonna, who read the statement signed by the Co-chairmen, Falae and Balarabe, alleged that so far, it appeared that the Buhari administration would be relying so much on the support of foreign governments.
