Even The Pope Sanctions Divorce, Says Sometimes It Can Be Morally Necessary For Parents To Separate

Divorce or separation can be defined as a judicial declaration dissolving a marriage in whole or in part, especially one that releases the marriage partners from all matrimonial obligations or any formal separation of husband and wife according to established custom.

Pope Francis today seems to have given official permission and approval for worrying couples to separate or divorce. To add voice to the public discuss concerning the high rate of divorce in today's world and ahead of a global meeting on family life coming up in October, Pope Francis said it may be “morally necessary” for some troubled families to split up so that the weaker partner or the children can be protected. He said this today June 24th while addressing Catholic faithfuls.
In his words;.....

“There are cases in which separation is inevitable. Sometimes, it can even be morally necessary, when it’s about shielding the weaker spouse or young children from the more serious wounds caused by intimidation and violence, humiliation and exploitation”

He went further, adding that after separations, it is necessary that the couple under go series of counselling so that the 'child does not become daddy or mummy’s hostage”. He noted that there are many families with 'irregular situations' in the world today.

You would recall that Pope Francis has spoken out on so many controversial issues since he took over the affairs of the Catholic church, including the issue of gay and gay marriage among others.
