Report out and about yesterday has it that two policemen were shot dead and two Lebanese nationals identified as Sarki Abi Chmouli and Ibrahim Abi Pherem were kidnapped in the Onuegbum community in Ogbia LG Area of Bayelsa State.
An eyewitness account has it that the two Lebanese kidnapped were workers with the Pache Construction Company. The gunmen numbering about 8 stormed a sand dredging site in a commando style at about 14:00 hours where the foreigners were working, killed their two police attachees and made away with the Lebanese.
Confirming the incident, the Bayelsa police command issued a statement saying that investigation is on-going and that the bodies of the policemen have been deposited in a mortuary
