Federal High Court Nullifies Rivers State LGA Election Conducted By Former Gov. Amaechi Six Days Before He Left Office

Justice Lambo Akambi of the Federal High Court PH Rivers State has delivered judgement in which he nullified the Local Government elections conducted by former governor Amaechi in Rivers state. In the said election, APC won all the seats while PDPMEMBERS boycotted the election after complaining of electoral fraud by members of the APC and sighting a court order to maintain status quo. 

Justice Lambo Akanbi in his ruling stated that the decision of the former governor, Chibuike Amaechi's administration to go ahead with the council election on May 23 in-spite of a court ORDER asking all parties to maintain status quo, was a flagrant abuse of court process and disregard for the rule of law.
