Turkey Calls For NATO Meeting Over Syria Crisis, Following Increased Attack On It's Territory By ISIS

Since the so called Islamic State of Syria and Iraq started their atrocities in both Iraq and Syria, Turkey a NATO giant next door neighbour, has been reluctant to take part in any airstrikes against the dreaded caliphate. But just a few days after the evil group visited it's territory with deadly suicide and car bombs that has killed many and got several others injured, Turkey seems to have waken from slumber.

According to Sky News, Turkey has called for an extraordinary meeting of NATO to discuss the escalating violence caused by the crisis in Syria. The meeting, which will be held in Brussels on Tuesday, was invoked under Article 4 of the NATO treaty.

A statement from NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said: "Turkey requested the meeting in view of the seriousness of the situation after the heinous terrorist attacks in recent days, and also to inform Allies of the measures it is taking.
The move comes as Turkey continued its airstrikes against Islamic State extremists in Syria and widened its anti-terror campaign to hit Kurdish militant targets inside Iraq.
