Passers-By Pull Man Threatening To Jump From Bridge To Safety

BYSTANDERS dragged a man who was threatening to jump from a bridge over St Peter’s Way back to safety. The man, in his forties, was spotted shortly on the wrong side of the railings of a bridge near Bolton Central Travelodge in Manchester shortly before 1am.

One of the onlookers was 34-year-old Zimmi Khan, who was travelling back to his home in Manchester city centre when he spotted the man.  He said: “The man was stood on the wrong side of the railings.

“There was another man who had stopped to help and was holding him to stop him jumping, and trying to drag him back over the barrier.  “I turned my car round and went to help, as did another person who had been driving under the bridge, and together we managed to pull the man to safety.
