This is one problem Nigeria must have to do away with, if the much talked about infrastructural development is gonna be in sight and within reach, inline with various government policy statements and projections. The act of commissioning uncompleted projects seems to have become an integral part of our body polity. This must have to stop!
According to thisdaylive.com, Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu state on Thursday commenced moves to complete the civil service secretariat commissioned by his predecessor, Sullivan Chime, in the twilight of his administration by giving approval for a whopping N216 million to be injected into the project.
The former governor had announced a budget of N13bn for building of the secretariat, another N4bn for the provision of ICT to the complex and another N4bn as variation in the contract cost, yet the complex remained uncompleted. It was however hurriedly commissioned.
