Wike Wins Round One, As Rivers Electoral Tribunal Strikes Out APGA's Petition Against Him

The Rivers election petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja has struck out the petition filled by the candidate of the All Progressive Grand Allaince Mr Charles Harry challenging the electoral victory of Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike of Rivers State.

Charles Harry had approached the Tribunal seeking an order for a fresh election to be conducted in Rivers State on grounds that the election which was by INEC was done with  total disregard to relevant provisions of the electoral act.

The Tribunal in a short rulling struck out the Petition by the APGA candidate on grounds that his party violated section 85(1) of the 2010 Electoral Act as amended which stipulates that political parties must notify INEC within 21days before conducting its Primary elections to select its Candidates

The same faith is most likely going to befall APC in a bit, as it is already a fact that the party on their own part failed foul of not submitting their candidate's name to INEC within the allowed period as also stipulated by the electoral Act.
