What Manner Of Foreign Policy Is This? FG Donates 20 Vehicles For October Elections In Burkina Faso

The Federal government yesterday donated 20 vehicles Hilux vans to Burkina Faso to assist the country conduct its general elections billed for October this year. According to NAN, the vehicles were delivered to the President, Commission Electorate Nationale Independent of Burkina Faso, Barthelemy Kere by the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bulus Lolo on behalf of the Nigerian government.

According to Lolo, President Buhari sent a special envoy to deliver the vehicles in demonstration of Nigeria’s solidarity with the people of Burkina Faso as it charts a new course in strengthening democracy in Africa. “The gesture is to demonstrate to the people of Burkina Faso that Nigeria is solidly behind them,” he said

This is a nation where nearly all the states of the federation are owing workers months and months of salary in arrears, not to talk of pension with unemployment in the very high double digits and the government is crying of austerity. You can now understand why President Buhari just yesterday declared that Nigeria has no business being classed as poor.

Just three months ago the government {President} assumed office and declared, they met empty treasury with the view to excusing themselves out the campaign promises their party made prior to the election which they have recently denied they never made.

You want to strengthen democracy in other countries, while your government is busy harassing electoral officers with the view to stealing positions won by the opposition party. You have to remove what is in your own eyes before asking to remove that in someone else's.
