At Long Last Former Rivers State Governor Rotimi AMAECHI Has Had His Ministerial Screening Done By The Senate.

Former Rivers state governor, Rotimi Amaechi had his ministerial screening done today after a protracted delay. During his screening, which saw the highest number of his supporters gather at the entrance of the Senate chambers, Rotimi Amaechi was able, in a short but scattered form made known his achievements while he was the speaker of the Rivers state House of Assembly and also as governor of the state.

Amaechi said he has never taken bribe in his life and that he is a man that doesn't like corruption and has always stood against it since his days as a Student Union President. He said he could not define corruption as it takes various forms, stating that corruption does not only entail the exchange of money. Adding that given positions to close relatives who do not qualify for a job or sleeping with girls in exchange for favour are also forms of corruption..

He refuted the claims that he was indicted by the Rivers State commission of inquiry. Amaechi said he was very vocal as a president of the Nigerian Governors Forum because he believed that he needed to fight for the rights of Nigerians. Amaechi suggested that he will become a senator after he is made minister.

He said he believed in APC and the change it has promised. According to him, Power and Executive impunity has been checked since APC came into power.

On what could be done to reduce unemployment in Nigeria, Amaechi advocated for increased investing in Agriculture and Technology as a major way of providing job opportunities in Nigeria, while peace is a key factor to improving employment and tranquillity.

Reacting to Amaechi's performance during the screening, perculiarperson wrote; From the look of things and his response to prompting questions asked, and in comparison to the grilling questions given to Fashola, Ibe Kachikwu and Kemi Adeosun and their educative and informative answers, Amaechi has no business being on that list.

This was a great opportunity for Amaechi to sell himself by showing his intellectual prowess, strong capabilities and reasons to be confirmed. Instead he went there to sell radicalism, multiple personality and mental imbalance on views and perspectives, double-mindedness and eye service. From his overall wealth of experience (former SA, PA, State Speaker, Governor etc.) he could not articulate a couple of words as advice to younger generation of politicians or political class.

His desperation is so glaring and obvious as he spoke with two sides of his mouth today. The same issue (resource control) he fought the past government for is what he has embraced fully in this new administration all because of his GREED and selfish interest!!!

He has even given a pointer with regards to his final political destination and where he would love to retire which is as a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria!!! This is sooooooo pathetic and heart wrenching.

If we appoint these sorts as ministers, what hope do we have of any transformation in Nigeria? Nigerians who voted this administration into power have indeed entered ONE CHANCE!!!
