Martin Luther King had a dream that one day his four children would live in a nation where they would not be judged, David Beckham had a dream that one day he would be captain of England, I had a dream that one day I’d be a millionaire (and I’m still dreaming). Just like the people listed above Collin Clark had a dream, a dream of becoming a bodybuilder and he’s doing it.
Bodybuilding is no easy feat, but the 22-year-old was not going to be dissuaded by the tough road you have to take to get there. Collin is from Indiana and has refused to let any hurdle prevent him from reaching his goal.
Once the determined American had his mind set on competing in a local competition, he has worked tirelessly to get himself ready. Collin was not going to let the intensive training regime, the strict dieting, or the fact that he has down syndrome get in his way.
He told 14News, “I feel great, I’m so happy I’m doing this. Bodybuilding is in my blood and I always wanted to do this ever since I was a kid.” With the help of trainer Glenn Ubelhor, over the past year Collin has made unbelievable progress – he’s dropped 27 kilograms – through sweat and sacrifice in the gym.
This young man is fiercely determined and is ready to get the chance to “live out his dream” in the coming days. On the 14th November Collin will have 60 seconds to show the judges what he’s got to AC/DC’s Back in Black. He said that he isn’t nervous about the event and that he “would never give up, never quit. Try harder, push harder, and give it your all.”
He did receive loads of words of commendation and encouragement as you can see below.
Unlike most superheroes Collin doesn’t wake up to save the world, unlike most superheroes Collin can’t fly, and unlike most superheroes Collin was born with down syndrome. Yet he is still one powerful crusader. Kudos to Viral
