What is expected of the DSS is to go underground and stop the terrorists from attacking the country and not to set confusion by announcing an expected terror attack. Here is a national announcement by DSS to residents of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja; .......According to news reports, the Department of State Services (DSS) has intimated residents of the federal capital territory (FCT) of the plans of Boko Haram sect to carry out some attacks in the city.
In a circular issued by Mohammed Ibrahim, DSS’ director of security service, the service disclosed that the sect was planning suicide attacks on churches, mosques and market places. Ibrahim urged religious bodies to beef up security and call any of the three telephone numbers: 09063872207, 09053872208 and 09053872209, to report “suspicious elements”.
“Intelligence reaching this office revealed that insurgents are planning to attack the federal capital territory,” the circular read. “Their main targets are worship centres and markets with the use of young girls as members of aid groups to carry out their planned attacks.
“It is in view of the foregoing, I am directed to inform you to communicate the content of this letter to all mosques, churches and markets across the FCT for extra vigilance, particularly unknown persons dressing as aid workers loitering around the worship areas and markets.''
