The effect of the Paris terror attack seems to be playing out in Germany right now. You would recall that Germany was the away team during the international friendly last week when terrorists detonated their suicide vests after spraying people with AK47, killing nearly 130.
According to metro.co.uk, Germany’s friendly match with Netherlands has been cancelled after the stadium hosting the match was evacuated before kick-off due to security reasons. The Paris attacks on Friday night had raised doubts over a number of international matches scheduled to be played on Tuesday, with officials taking the decision to cancel Belgium’s friendly with Spain.
And Germany v Netherlands has become the next match to be cancelled, with police confirming the decision after the HDI Arena in Hannover was evacuated due to security reasons, with police finding a suspicious suitcase earlier on in the day.
The cancellation came roughly 90 minutes before the game’s scheduled kick-off, and those fans that had arrived early were told to ‘move away and do not stand still’ by police. Metro UK
