The newly appointed Nigerian Minister of State for Petroleum resources, Ibe Kachikwu is now the new president of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC. Mr E I Kachikwu took over from Diezani Alison-Madueke who became the first ever female president of the organization in November last 2014, but could not continue due to the government she served lost the presidential election in May 2015.
