Reporter Accidentally Stabbed While Demonstrating ‘Stab-proof’ Vest

An Israeli reporter was accidentally stabbed while demonstrating the efficacy of a stab-proof vest. Israel has faced almost daily stabbing attacks by Palestinians in recent weeks, and Eitam Lachover, who works for the state broadcaster, was asked to try on a protective vest and demonstrate a thwarted stabbing. It didn’t quite go as planned.

The knife went through the vest and wounded Mr Lachover on the back. Yaniv Montakyo, a vice-president of the company that designed the vest, told Channel 2 TV that Lachover was stabbed through a part of the vest that had no protective material. He added that Lachover was not seriously harmed, and was discharged from hospital with stitches.

Despite the blunder, Montakyo said an earlier take was successful and the news item will still be broadcast. Since mid-September, 19 Israelis and an American student have been killed in stabbing attacks. At least 120 Palestinians have been shot by Israelis in the same period. Source; metro.co.uk
