11 SUV Cars worth N15 million each imported by Imo State Government has been reportedly impounded by Nigeria Custom Services (NCS) for trying to evade import duties.
Speaking to newsmen, Imo State Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha personally admitted to the development saying that his government is doing everything within her power to ensure the release of the cars
The Governor claimed that the vehicles were meant for the members of Imo State House of Assembly- IMHA. This is coming at a time the Imo government sacked thousands of workers and are not even able to pay salaries.
Imo indigenes abroad have queried why the Governor will be importing Cars worth N15 million each for the 27 members of Imo State House of Assembly when he Lamented earlier that IMO STATE IS BROKE FINANCIALLY.
